Sport Club Corinthians Paulista is one of Brazil’s most iconic and successful sport organisations, famed primarily for its professional football team that competes in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Brazil’s top football division. Founded on 1 September 1910 in São Paulo by a group of railway workers inspired by the English Corinthian FC, Corinthians was created as a club “of the people” and has maintained deep cultural roots in Brazilian society ever since.
