About the brand ❤️
AAE Ahaus Alstätter Eisenbahn was a Swiss-based railway wagon leasing company with German origins. Founded in 1989, it initially obtained the concession of the Ahaus–Alstätte railway line in Germany but later focused primarily on leasing freight wagons. The company grew into one of Europe's largest private freight-wagon lessors, with a fleet of around 30,000 wagons. In January 2015, VTG AG acquired all AAE shares. The former AAE businesses were subsequently integrated into VTG, with the corporate structure largely consolidated by 2018.
