Club Med (originally Club Méditerranée) is a French travel and tourism operator, known as a pioneer of the “all-inclusive” holiday concept. Founded by Belgian entrepreneur Gérard Blitz on 27 April 1950, it launched with simple tented beach villages and communal living. Over decades, it grew into a premium global leisure brand, operating around 70 resort villages worldwide, offering food, accommodations, entertainment and activities bundled in one price. Headquartered in Paris, Club Med became owned by China’s Fosun International in 2013. The brand is positioned toward upscale holiday-makers, families and couples, and is known for its distinctive style with “Gentil Organisers” (staff who entertain and organise activities), mountain and beach resorts, and premium amenities.
