About the brand ❤️
Associazione Calcio ChievoVerona—often simply Chievo—is an Italian football club representing the Chievo suburb of Verona in Veneto. The original club was founded on 6 September 1929 and achieved a remarkable rise through the Italian league system, including multiple seasons in Serie A and European competitions. Chievo became known as “I Mussi Volanti” (“The Flying Donkeys”), a nickname born from local rivalry and its underdog ascent. Financial troubles led to the club’s exclusion from professional leagues and dissolution in 2021. In 2024, former captain Sergio Pellissier and a group of stakeholders acquired the ChievoVerona brand and reestablished the club under its historic name. The refounded AC ChievoVerona now competes in Serie D, Italy’s fourth tier, playing at the Stadio Aldo Olivieri in Verona. The club maintains its identity and traditions, supported by passionate fans and a renewed organizational structure aimed at returning to higher levels of Italian football.
