Access Air was a U.S. low-cost airline, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. It began flight operations in February 1999, aiming to serve underserved regional markets with lower fares. Early investors included prominent local companies like Caterpillar and Principal Financial Group. Despite offering discounted prices, the airline struggled with low load factors and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 1999. After a brief relaunch in late 2000, dwindling demand led to its final shutdown in February 2001.
