Founded in 1990 to provide South Australia with representation in the expanding Australian Football League (AFL), the club played its first AFL season in 1991 and quickly became a central part of the national competition. Headquartered and training in Adelaide, the Crows play their home matches at Adelaide Oval, a landmark sporting venue known for its scenic setting.
