Air Moldova was the national airline of Moldova, established by presidential decree on January 12, 1993. Based at Chișinău International Airport, it developed into the country's leading airline and operated scheduled passenger services to destinations across Europe, Russia, and the Middle East. The carrier operated Airbus and Embraer aircraft and played an important role in Moldova's international air connectivity. Air Moldova experienced severe financial difficulties and entered restructuring proceedings in 2023 after suspending flights. In January 2026, a court transferred the company into bankruptcy proceedings, while its legal status remained subject to appeal.
