ANAS S.p.A. is Italy's national road infrastructure company, responsible for managing, maintaining and developing a large network of state roads and national-interest motorways. Founded in 1946 as the Azienda Nazionale Autonoma delle Strade, it was transformed into a public economic entity in 1996 and into a joint-stock company in 2002. ANAS operates under a concession from the Italian state and carries out road maintenance, construction, safety improvements and infrastructure development. Since 2018, it has been part of the FS Italiane Group.
