About the brand ❤️
Andhra Bank was an Indian public sector bank founded by Bhogaraju Pattabhi Sitaramayya in 1923 in Machilipatnam (in present-Andhra Pradesh). It was registered on 20 November 1923 and started business a few days later. Over the decades it expanded across many states, providing retail, corporate, agricultural banking and other financial services. Its registered office was later shifted to Hyderabad. Nationalised in 1980, Andhra Bank had thousands of branches and ATMs. On 1 April 2020, it was merged with another public sector bank, Union Bank of India, as part of a government-driven consolidation of banks. Since then, it no longer operates as a separate legal bank.
