About the brand ❤️
Android 1.5 (Cupcake) was the third major release of the Android mobile operating system, developed by Google LLC, an American technology company headquartered in Mountain View, California. Released on April 27, 2009, Cupcake was significant for being the first Android version to use a dessert‑themed codename, a tradition that lasted until Android 10. This update brought notable user‑facing and developer enhancements over its predecessors, including a software keyboard for touchscreen input, support for widgets on the home screen, video recording and playback, improved Bluetooth support, and enhancements to core applications like the web browser and contacts. Cupcake also laid the foundation for later Android features by introducing new APIs and expanding the platform’s capabilities. Although it was succeeded by Android 1.6 (Donut) later in 2009 and is no longer supported or maintained, Android 1.5 (Cupcake) remains an important milestone in the early evolution of the Android ecosystem.
