AnsaldoBreda was an Italian manufacturer of railway rolling stock and one of the major rail businesses of the Finmeccanica group. Established in 2001 through the merger of Ansaldo Trasporti and Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, it produced high-speed and regional trains, trams, metro vehicles and driverless metro systems for customers worldwide. Its products included the ETR 500, V250, Sirio tram and various metro trains. In 2015, Hitachi acquired the AnsaldoBreda business from Finmeccanica, after which it was renamed Hitachi Rail Italy.
