About the brand ❤️
Aricent was a global product design, engineering, and R&D services firm, with major operations in telecommunications, semiconductors, software, and product engineering. Its origins trace back to Hughes Software Systems (founded 1991 in India) and Future Software Communications (1985), which later merged under various ownerships (Flextronics, private equity). Over time, Aricent grew to over 10,000 employees, serving high-profile telecom and tech clients. In 2018, it was acquired by Altran Technologies for about €1.7 billion, and by 2019 the Aricent name began being phased out, becoming “Altran North America” (and later Altran Americas), before entering Capgemini Engineering as part of Capgemini’s broader ER&D services offering. Although the brand no longer operates independently, much of its capabilities, staff, and legacy continue under Capgemini.
