Atkins is an American nutrition and food brand founded in 1989 by physician Robert Atkins. The company was created to develop and market products associated with the low-carbohydrate Atkins diet. Its product range includes protein bars, shakes, snacks, cookies, confectionery and other low-carbohydrate foods. Atkins Nutritionals became a major name in the diet-food market and expanded its products internationally. In 2017, the business was acquired by The Simply Good Foods Company, which continues to own and operate the Atkins brand alongside Quest and OWYN.
