Barrett Firearms Manufacturing is a U.S.-based company, founded in 1982 by Ronnie G. Barrett, and headquartered in Tennessee. It is renowned for designing and producing large-caliber, precision rifles, most famously the .50 BMG Barrett M82. Over four decades, Barrett has become a world leader in long-range rifle manufacturing, supplying military, law enforcement, and civilian markets across more than 70 countries. In January 2023, the Australian defense firm NIOA Group acquired Barrett, though production continues in its Tennessee facility.
