Blue Air was a Romanian low-cost airline founded in 2004 and headquartered in Bucharest. The company operated scheduled passenger flights to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean, becoming Romania's largest low-cost carrier for several years. Its fleet consisted primarily of Boeing 737 aircraft serving both leisure and business travelers. Following financial difficulties, operational disruptions, and insolvency proceedings, the airline suspended flights in 2022 and ultimately ceased operations in 2023. Blue Air played a significant role in expanding affordable air travel within Romania and neighboring European markets before its closure.
