BRF was a major Brazilian food company created in 2009 through the consolidation of Perdigão and Sadia, with the combination completed in 2012. It became one of the world's largest producers of poultry and processed foods, with products sold in more than 100 countries. Its leading brands included Sadia, Perdigão and Qualy, covering frozen meats, processed foods, dairy products and other food categories. In 2023, Marfrig acquired majority control of BRF, and in September 2025 the companies completed a share merger, creating MBRF and ending BRF as a separately traded company.
