Bursaspor is a Turkish football and multisport club based in Bursa, founded on 1 June 1963 through the merger of five local clubs. The club is known for its green-and-white colors and is one of the most prominent football institutions outside Turkey’s traditional Istanbul-based giants. Bursaspor won the Turkish Süper Lig in the 2009–10 season, becoming only the second club from outside Istanbul to win the championship. The club has also won the Turkish Cup once and has represented Turkey in European competitions.
