Café Pelé is a Brazilian coffee brand launched in 1970 by Cia. Cacique de Café Solúvel in partnership with football legend Pelé, whose name was licensed for the brand. It began with roasted and ground coffee as well as instant coffee and later expanded its product range to include cappuccino and other coffee products. Café Pelé became an important Brazilian coffee brand and was exported to numerous international markets. In 2017, the brand was acquired by Jacobs Douwe Egberts and became part of the JDE Peet’s portfolio. Today, Café Pelé remains active in Brazil.
