About the brand ❤️
Plymouth was an American automobile brand created by the Chrysler Corporation in 1928 to compete in the low-priced segment of the U.S. car market dominated by Ford and Chevrolet. Cars were marketed through Chrysler and Chrysler-Plymouth dealerships, offering affordable yet well-equipped vehicles that helped the brand become one of the “Big Three” mass-market names in the United States for decades. Over time, Plymouth models ranged from compact cars to family sedans and minivans, often sharing platforms with Dodge and Chrysler counterparts. As the automotive market evolved and Chrysler reorganized its lineup, sales of Plymouth cars declined in the 1990s due to overlapping products and reduced identity. In 2001, Chrysler discontinued the Plymouth marque, phasing out its remaining models or rebadging them under Chrysler or Dodge. Today Plymouth lives on in automotive history and collector culture as a classic American brand.
