About the brand ❤️
Danner is a historic American boot-maker established in 1932, known for crafting high-quality outdoor, work, hunting, tactical, and hiking boots. Originally founded in Wisconsin, the company relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1936 to better serve the logging and timber industries of the Pacific Northwest. Over decades Danner gained recognition for durable “shipyard” and work boots, before expanding into lightweight hiking boots during the mid-20th century and pioneering innovations like using Gore-Tex waterproof linings and Vibram outsoles. After several changes in ownership — including acquisition by LaCrosse Footwear in 1994 and later by ABC-Mart — Danner remains active, with a large manufacturing facility in Portland. The brand continues to produce a mix of “Made in USA” boots and globally sourced footwear, maintaining its reputation for rugged, long-lasting boots designed for demanding outdoor or work environments.
