About the brand ❤️
The Dayton Bombers were a professional ice hockey franchise based in Dayton, Ohio, competing in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) from their founding in 1991 until 2009. Known for navy blue, red and white colours, the Bombers played home games originally at Hara Arena before relocating to the Ervin J. Nutter Center on the campus of Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio. Over nearly two decades, they were competitive in the ECHL’s American Conference, reaching divisional finals and cultivating a dedicated local fanbase. The franchise operated under several owners, with Costa Papista among the final principal proprietors. Despite efforts to secure additional investment and community support after the 2008–09 season, the Bombers were unable to continue and returned their ECHL membership, marking the end of the team’s run in professional hockey. During their tenure, the Bombers served as a developmental team for higher leagues and featured many players who progressed in their careers. Their closure left a gap in Dayton’s minor league hockey scene but remains part of the city’s rich sports history in Ohio.
