About the brand ❤️
DVD‑R is an optical disc recording format developed in the late 1990s for storing video, data, and multimedia on writable DVD media. The “DVD‑R” standard was created under the auspices of the DVD Forum, an international industry group of electronics manufacturers that coordinated the development of DVD technologies. DVD‑R discs allow users to write data once (write‑once) using compatible DVD recorders and drives, making them ideal for archiving and distribution before widespread use of rewritable formats and flash storage. The format became popular for home video recording, data backup, and software distribution. Over time it was joined by related formats like DVD‑RW (rewritable) and DVD+R (alternate standard). Although optical media use has declined, DVD‑R remains supported by many players and drives around the world.
