About the brand ❤️
Etihad Airways is the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, established in July 2003 by royal decree of Abu Dhabi. The airline launched with a ceremonial flight on 5 November 2003 and began commercial services a week later. With its headquarters in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, it operates from Abu Dhabi International Airport as its hub. Etihad is fully owned by the Abu Dhabi government, and ownership was consolidated under the sovereign wealth fund ADQ in 2022. Over the years, Etihad has grown rapidly, ordering modern wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, expanding its global network across Asia, Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Australasia. Its name "Etihad" means “union” in Arabic, reflecting the spirit of the UAE’s federation. The airline has navigated periods of expansion, profitability and restructuring, and continues operating in both passenger and cargo services with an emphasis on luxury, service, and connecting Abu Dhabi with the world.
