Europcar is a French international vehicle-rental and mobility brand founded in Paris in 1949 by Raoul-Louis Mattei. Originally established as L'Abonnement Automobile, the company expanded across Europe and adopted the Europcar name in the 1970s. Today, it provides car and van rental, fleet management, subscription and other mobility services through a network spanning around 130 countries. Its principal brands include Europcar, Goldcar, Fox Rent A Car and Euromobil. Since 2022, Europcar Mobility Group has been owned by Green Mobility Holding, a consortium of Volkswagen Group, Attestor and Pon Holdings.
