Ferrero Rocher is an Italian premium chocolate brand created by the Ferrero Group in 1982 in Alba, Piedmont. It was developed to make a sophisticated chocolate specialty accessible to a wider audience and quickly became popular across Europe. The confection consists of a whole hazelnut surrounded by hazelnut cream, a crisp wafer, milk chocolate and chopped hazelnuts, finished with its distinctive golden wrapper. Ferrero Rocher expanded internationally, entering the United States in 1988 and later many other markets. Today, it is sold in more than 140 countries and remains one of Ferrero’s most recognizable brands.
