In 2024, more than a decade after the original Flappy Bird was taken down by its creator, an unofficial reboot of the iconic mobile game emerged. Developed by Gametech Holdings under the name The Flappy Bird Foundation, this version was announced in September 2024 after the Flappy Bird trademark was declared abandoned and later acquired. The reboot first launched on Telegram and is set to expand to iOS, Android, and web platforms through 2025. While the core gameplay—tapping to guide a bird through gaps—remains, the new iteration adds updated features, multiplayer modes, and broader platform support. The original creator, Dong Nguyen, has publicly stated he is not involved with this project.
