About the brand ❤️
Google Fuchsia is an experimental, open-source operating system developed by Google as a next-generation platform designed to run on a wide range of devices — from embedded systems and smart home displays to potentially smartphones and laptops. Unlike Google’s earlier operating systems such as Android and Chrome OS, which are based on the Linux kernel, Fuchsia is built on a new microkernel called Zircon, developed from the Little Kernel project. This design emphasises modularity, security and adaptability, allowing Google to explore innovative approaches to performance, real-time responsiveness and cross-device compatibility. First detected publicly in 2016 and later deployed on devices like the Google Nest Hub in 2021, Fuchsia integrates modern development tools such as Flutter for its user interface and supports multiple programming languages. Its long-term role within Google’s ecosystem is still evolving, with ongoing development and experimentation shaping how it may complement or expand Google’s software portfolio.
