GreenBlue is an American environmental nonprofit organization founded in 2002 by William McDonough and Michael Braungart. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, it works to accelerate the transition toward a regenerative, just and sustainable materials economy. GreenBlue brings together companies, organizations and other stakeholders to improve the environmental performance of materials and packaging. Its projects include the Sustainable Packaging Coalition, How2Recycle, the Recycled Material Standard, How2Compost and CleanGredients. The organization uses research, standards, data and collaboration to promote more sustainable material systems.
