About the brand ❤️
Hellmann’s is a globally recognized condiment and mayonnaise brand that originated in the United States in 1913, when German immigrant Richard Hellmann began selling his now-iconic mayonnaise recipe in New York. The product’s distinctive blue-ribbon label helped establish its reputation for creamy texture and quality, making it a kitchen staple in the U.S. and later internationally. Over the decades Hellmann’s expanded into other condiments such as ketchups, mustards, sauces, and salad dressings, becoming synonymous with classic mayonnaise. In 2000 the brand became part of Unilever, a major British multinational consumer goods company, broadening its global reach through distribution across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Today Hellmann’s products are marketed in numerous countries under the Hellmann’s name and, in some regions such as the U.S. west of the Rocky Mountains and parts of Asia and Oceania, under the Best Foods brand — both using similar recipes and branding. Despite over a century of changes in ownership and product variety, Hellmann’s remains one of the world’s best-known and best-selling mayonnaise brands.
