I/O Software, Inc. was an American software company founded in 1991 by William H. Saito and headquartered in Riverside, California. The company specialized in information-security technologies, particularly biometric authentication, encryption, public-key infrastructure and digital certificates. Its SecureSuite products supported authentication using fingerprints, iris, voice, facial recognition, smart cards and tokens. I/O Software became notable through its cooperation with Microsoft, which acquired its Biometric API and SecureSuite core technology for integration with Windows. The company was reportedly sold in 2004.
