Founded in 2007 as a merger of local corporate teams from YKK AP and ALO’s Hokuriku, Kataller Toyama is a professional football club based in Toyama City, Japan. Operating under the leadership of chairman Eiji Sakai, the club competes out of the Toyama Stadium—complete with an approximate 25,000-seat capacity. After earning promotion to the J.League in 2009, the club recently returned to the J2 League following its elevation in 2024. The name “Kataller” merges the Toyama dialect for “to win” (katare) with the French “aller” (“to go”), symbolizing ambition and journey.
