Kee Games was an American arcade video game manufacturer founded in 1973 by Joe Keenan with the support of Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell. It was created as a nominal competitor to Atari to overcome distributors’ exclusive-dealing requirements, allowing similar games to be marketed through different distribution channels. Kee initially released modified versions of Atari titles before developing original games, most notably Tank, which became a major arcade success. Atari fully acquired Kee Games in 1974, but the brand continued operating as a separate division. Kee Games was ultimately discontinued in 1978 after Warner Communications took control of Atari.
