Liga ACB is Spain’s premier professional basketball league, representing the highest level of men’s club basketball in the country. Founded in 1983 when top clubs formed the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto to professionalize the national competition, the league comprises 18 teams (from Spain and sometimes Andorra). The member‑clubs jointly govern the league, with the association acting as a corporate body and clubs as shareholders; its current president oversees organisation.
