LumiraDx was a UK-based innovator in point-of-care diagnostic testing, founded in 2014 and led by CEO Ron Zwanziger. The company developed compact, rapid diagnostic platforms capable of delivering lab-quality results for infectious diseases, cardiovascular markers, diabetes, and coagulation. In July 2024, Roche acquired LumiraDx’s point-of-care technology, and the company officially ceased to exist as an independent entity on September 17, 2024. Its technologies and assets have since been integrated into Roche’s diagnostics operations, ending LumiraDx’s standalone operations.
