About the brand ❤️
Malaguti is a historic Italian two- and four-wheeled vehicle brand that began in 1930 in Bologna when Antonino (Antonio) Malaguti opened a bicycle shop, later producing his own frames and moving into motorized bicycles and small motorcycles. Post-World War II, the company expanded into mopeds and scooters, earning a reputation for quality small-displacement machines well suited to European urban transport and leisure riding. Based in San Lazzaro di Savena near Bologna, Malaguti built a range of models over decades — from lightweight mopeds to larger scooters — and became part of Italy’s rich motorcycling heritage. However, facing competitive pressure and financial strain, the original company halted production and officially closed in 2011, laying off workers and closing its factory. In 2018 the brand name was purchased by Austrian firm KSR Group GmbH, which has since revived Malaguti as a brand for modern motorcycles and scooters developed under its direction, blending the traditional Italian identity with contemporary design and manufacturing practices.
