The company developed cloud-based marketing automation software designed to help businesses manage customer engagement, lead generation, email campaigns, account-based marketing and revenue attribution. Marketo became a major provider of B2B marketing technology and was acquired by Vista Equity Partners in 2016. In October 2018, Adobe completed its acquisition of Marketo for approximately $4.75 billion. Marketo's technology became part of Adobe Experience Cloud, where it continues to support marketing automation and customer engagement for businesses worldwide.
