Meda was a Swedish specialty pharmaceutical company founded in 1954 and headquartered in Solna. It developed, marketed and distributed prescription medicines, over-the-counter products and healthcare solutions internationally. Its portfolio covered therapeutic areas such as respiratory diseases, dermatology, pain management, inflammation and gastrointestinal conditions. Meda operated in more than 60 countries and its products were distributed in over 150 markets. In August 2016, the company was acquired by Mylan and became part of its pharmaceutical business, which later joined Viatris.
