Melitta is a German coffee and household-products brand founded in 1908 by Melitta Bentz, who invented the world's first paper coffee filter. Together with her husband Hugo, she registered a business in Dresden on 15 December 1908, laying the foundation for the Melitta Group. The company initially focused on coffee filters and later expanded into coffee, brewing equipment and household products. Its headquarters were moved to Minden in 1929. Today, Melitta remains a family-owned international group with operations in coffee, coffee preparation and household products, and is active in numerous markets worldwide.
