About the brand ❤️
Metro de Sevilla is a light metro system in southern Spain that provides rapid transit service across the city of Seville and parts of its metropolitan area. The concession company was established in 2003 to design, build and operate the network, with the first section of Line 1 opening on 2 April 2009. Today it comprises an 18‑kilometre line with 21–22 stations, linking residential suburbs like Mairena del Aljarafe and Dos Hermanas with central Seville, easing urban mobility and complementing other transport modes. Managed by Metro de Sevilla Sociedad Concesionaria — a public‑private entity with Globalvia as principal shareholder and participation by the regional government — the system has grown into one of Spain’s notable metro networks outside Madrid or Barcelona. Ongoing construction aims to extend the network with additional lines, reflecting sustained investment in sustainable urban transport. Metro de Sevilla is integral to local travel, contributing significantly to reducing congestion and connecting communities throughout the metropolitan region.
