Michigan Wolverines is the athletic program of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The program fields varsity teams in numerous sports and competes primarily in the Big Ten Conference and NCAA Division I. Michigan's intercollegiate athletics tradition dates to the 19th century, with football beginning in 1879.
