Headquartered in Gurun, Kedah, the company designs, develops and produces a wide range of motorcycles and scooters targeted at both local and export markets, particularly in Southeast Asia and beyond. Its first model, the Modenas Kriss 110, was launched in November 1996 and became one of the best‑selling underbone motorcycles in Malaysia. Modenas blends Malaysian engineering and international partnerships — notably with Kawasaki Heavy Industries — to offer products in multiple segments, from commuter bikes to sport and utility models, while also assembling and distributing products under collaboration with global brands.
