About the brand ❤️
MoonTV was a Finnish free cable television channel that began broadcasting in 1997 and became known for youth‑oriented programming focused on computer and video games, entertainment and music culture. It gained attention as one of the early interactive TV channels, reaching viewers in Finland’s largest cities and pioneering formats that engaged audiences with gaming, music specials and cultural reports. Despite a dedicated following and unique content, MoonTV struggled financially and was forced to cease cable broadcasts on 1 July 2003 after its owning company declared bankruptcy. In 2010 it was relaunched online with new hosts and a fresh lineup, though its impact never fully matched the original cable presence. Its legacy remains significant as a niche but influential channel in Finnish media history.
