About the brand ❤️
Newcastle Brown Ale is an English brown ale first brewed in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1927 by Colonel James Porter and chemist Archie Jones. It became one of the most recognizable beers associated with North East England and developed a strong international following. Production originally took place at the Tyne Brewery before moving to Gateshead in 2005 and later to Tadcaster. Heineken acquired the brand in 2008 through its purchase of Scottish & Newcastle. Today, Newcastle Brown Ale remains an active international beer brand, brewed in the UK and selected overseas markets.
