The Nexus 5 is a smartphone developed in partnership between Google and LG Electronics, and it’s part of the Google Nexus line designed to showcase the pure Android operating system. Unveiled on 31 October 2013, it debuted with Android 4.4 “KitKat”, featuring a 4.95‑inch 1080p Full‑HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of RAM, and an 8 MP rear camera with optical image stabilization. Praised for its balance of strong performance and affordable pricing, the Nexus 5 became one of the most popular Nexus devices, offering fast updates directly from Google and a clean software experience. Following the launch of newer Nexus models, Google discontinued the Nexus 5’s production by the end of 2014, and sales through official channels concluded by March 2015, though the device continued to be used by enthusiasts and developers long after.
