About the brand ❤️
The Ohio Auditor of State is the elected constitutional chief auditing officer for the U.S. State of Ohio, responsible for promoting accountability and transparency in public finances. Established in 1803 shortly after Ohio’s admission to the Union, the Auditor’s office conducts financial and performance audits of all state and local public entities — including cities, counties, townships, school districts, universities, and state agencies — to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent legally, efficiently, and without waste. The Auditor also investigates fraud, waste, and misuse of public funds while offering financial services and training to local governments. With a statewide staff of auditors and professionals, the office aims to strengthen public trust by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of government operations. As a public institution rather than a company, it has no owner in the commercial sense; the position is filled through statewide elections under Ohio law.
