Optimism Brewing was an American craft brewery and taproom founded in 2013 by Seattle couple Troy Hakala and Gay Gilmore. Located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, it operated from a 16,000-square-foot former automobile showroom and became known for its spacious, family- and dog-friendly taproom and approachable craft beers. The brewery was sold to Seattle-based Stoup Brewing in 2023, which took over the facility and brewing operations. Optimism Brewing subsequently ceased operating as an independent brand, while the founders retained ownership of the building.
