About the brand ❤️
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) is an autocephalous (independent) Eastern Orthodox Church headquartered in Kyiv, Ukraine. It was formed during the Unification Council on 15 December 2018, uniting previously separate Orthodox jurisdictions, and received formal recognition (a tomos of autocephaly) in early January 2019. Its leader is Metropolitan Epiphanius I, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The Church is legally registered as the “Kyiv Metropolis of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine,” with its registered address in Kyiv (Triokhsviatytelska Street, 6). It follows the Byzantine Rite, uses Ukrainian and Church Slavonic languages, and has among its central sites St. Sophia Cathedral and St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery. The OCU has played a key role in religious, cultural, and national identity in Ukraine, especially in distancing from Russian ecclesiastical influence, and continues to grow in terms of parishes and recognition both domestically and internationally.
