The Paraguay national football team, known as La Albirroja, is the official men’s team representing Paraguay in international football. It is governed by the Asociación Paraguaya de Fútbol (APF), established in 1906 and headquartered in Luque, near Asunción. Since 2016, the APF has been led by President Robert Harrison. The national team began playing in the early 1910s and entered its first major tournament at the 1921 Copa América. Notable for winning the Copa América in 1953 and 1979, the team also reached the 2010 World Cup quarter-finals.
