Pinnacle Systems was an American technology company specializing in digital video hardware and software. Founded in California in 1986, it became a major developer of video-editing systems, capture hardware, broadcast equipment and consumer multimedia products. Its best-known products included Pinnacle Studio, PCTV and Dazzle. The company expanded through acquisitions before being acquired by Avid Technology in 2005 for approximately $462 million. In 2012, Avid sold Pinnacle's consumer products business to Corel, which continued developing products under the Pinnacle brand.
