About the brand ❤️
Presto is a proprietary browser rendering engine developed by Opera Software in Norway, first released in 2003 and used in the Opera browser from version 7 through version 12.18. It stood out for its dynamic rendering capability, enabling web pages or parts of them to be re-rendered in response to DOM or script events, which enhanced interactivity and performance. However, with the web ecosystem increasingly aligning around other open-source engines, Opera announced the retirement of Presto in favour of Blink in 2013. Although development has ceased, Presto remains a notable chapter in browser engine history for its innovation in the early web era.
